Absolut Mexico

This things getting a lot of flack and a lot of 'Mericans aren't down... but I think it's friggin' great. It's made for the Mexican market and is not historically inaccurate.

Here is the apology that came out of this.

“We are sorry if we offended anyone. This was not our intention. We will try to explain. Though you may not agree, I hope you understand.”
“We have a variety of executions running in countries worldwide, and each is germane to that country and that population. This particular ad, which ran in Mexico, was based upon historical perspectives and was created with a Mexican sensibility. In no way was this meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues. Instead, it hearkens to a time which the population of Mexico may feel was more ideal.”
“Obviously, this ad was run in Mexico, and not the US — that ad might have been very different.”

Crank up the Mic

Re-surface Design has these awesome SOLO pendant lights that are in the shape of a classical microphone.

the SOLO pendant light is a re-mix of the classic microphone as light fixture. the mesh top emits a soft, disco-like glow. hang over a bed or table to create atmosphere, or above turntables for reading disc labels.

The packaging is pretty sweet!

Fractal

Takeshi Miyakawa's Fractal Drawers are awesome. I dig how there are a billion different sized drawers and all the space is used up. Miyakawa has priced the Fractal Drawers at $20K because he said it is a pain in the ass to make and doesn't want to make too many. Honesty rules!
