Swirl.

I love these ink/watercolor illustrations by Nathan Manire. He uses swirls, lines and different shapes to make these awesome portraits of Hunter S. Thompson, Jack White and Tome Yorke. The use of shapes and lines to illustrate make the whole thing look very fluid and his subtle use of color really makes the portraits pop.
